A LIFE’S DESTINY
One day in April, as our archipelago was resonating with birdsong and the chattering of monkeys, our sanctuary opened a new chapter with the arrival of Bouba the bear. Bouba had been previously abandoned in the illegal animal markets. Taking-in Bouba was an important step towards our commitment to animals. We created a tailor-made structure for our new companion to provide her with a good quality of life in an environment specially adapted to her needs.
BUILDING THE FUTURE
As soon as Bouba arrived, we created a private and protected space of 1000 m². This park has been planned carefully in order to provide ideal life conditions for Bouba. We have even built her a swimming pool and she loves it!
Our mission was also to let Bouba live in close proximity to human beings and the other animals of the archipelago. Thanks to the support and excellent advice of Frédéric Chesneau, who is a bear trainer, we managed to domesticate Bouba totally. Today Bouba is a real friend. She loves to play with us and is very mischievous.
KEEPING IN TOUCH WITH BOUBA
A few months later, Bouba’s life and her successful integration had become a fairy tale we wish to share with you. You have requested updates about Bouba’s amazing adventures? This blog is for you. Every week, we will tell you about Bouba’s encounters, and even include some of the worst or silly things that our furry companion has been up to.
Bouba is now the mascot of our archipelago, a living symbol of our diversity and our commitment to animals. Our commitment has pushed us forward and is encouraging us to rescue other animal companions in our archipelago.
We remind you that the animals in the park live on Mr Locascio’s private property. Visitors need permission from the owner to approach and see the animals.
We wish to thank all the people who supported Bouba and helped to make this story a reality.
